We have all played the game of he/she loves me, he/she loves me not… we have had countless talks with our friends on what that ‘Look’ actually meant. And when nothing worked, we turned to Linda Goodman. For those whom Linda’s name doesn’t ring any bells, we are talking about zodiacs. Yes, me saggi, you virgo? Detailed below is a quick summary of zodiacs, for you to figure whether your relationship will be warm, cold or just blah!
>) FIRE SIGNS: ARIES, LEO, AND SAGITTARIUS
DOMINANT TRAITS OF A FIRE SIGN – passionate, dynamic, and temperamental.
>) EARTH SIGNS: TAURUS, VIRGO, AND CAPRICORN
DOMINANT TRAITS OF AN EARTH SIGN – loyal, realistic, and stable and stick by their people through hard times.
>) AIR SIGNS: GEMINI, LIBRA, AND AQUARIUS
DOMINANT TRAITS OF AN AIR SIGN – thoughtful, analytical and love communicating and socializing.
>) WATER SIGNS: CANCER, SCORPIO, AND PISCES
DOMINANT TRAITS OF A WATER SIGN – intuitive, emotional and ultra-sensitive and can be mysterious.
The fire and air elements are naturally considered compatible. The energetic, enthusiastic, competitive traits of the Fire signs complement the changeable, expedient, versatile traits of the Air signs. Thus, Aries, Leo, Sagittarius are highly compatible with Gemini, Libra, Aquarius quite naturally.
The earth and water elements are, as in nature considered compatible. The deliberate, stable, dependable traits of the Earth signs complement the sensitive, intuitive, emotional traits of the Water signs thereby making Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn naturally compatible with Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces.
Same element signs when combined
FIRE + FIRE = energy and enthusiasm
EARTH + EARTH = stability and routine
AIR + AIR = intellectual stimulation
WATER + WATER = sensitive and emotional
A few examples never hurt the essay. Oops, blog, we mean.
>) AKSHAY KUMAR (VIRGO) AND TWINKLE KHANNA (CAPRICORN)
One of the most popular couple of Bollywood, Akshay Kumar and Twinkle Khanna charm us with their funny yet adorable relationship. Both being air signs, are a constant stimulation for each other.
>) AAMIR KHAN (PISCES) AND KIRAN RAO (SCORPIO) Highly compatible
The perfectionist duo, according to their zodiac signs, is each other’s emotional feed. Constantly driven by love both water signs are highly compatible.
>) RANI MUKHERJEE (CUSP BETWEEN PISCES AND ARIES) ADITYA CHOPRA (CUSP BETWEEN TAURUS AND GEMINI)
Though their relationship was well under the wraps until the last moment, they caught quite an eye when they got married. Their compatibility thrives on creativity and stimulation of the mind.
>) SHAHID KAPOOR (PISCES) AND MIRA RAJPUT (VIRGO)
One of the cutest couple of Bollywood, these two are naturally compatible according to their zodiac signs. Both Pisces and Virgo desire emotional stability and their mutual love and respect keep them going strong.
>) VIRAT KOHLI (SCORPIO) AND ANUSHKA SHARMA (TAURUS)
The mutual stability and sensitivity of both these signs is what keeps them going. Keeping their love and goofy streak alive Virat and Anushka are huge favorites among their fans.

It’s not just about the trousseau they selected, or the hunk they were about to marry, it was not just abut the lehngas they were wearing, or the fabulous accessories they were carrying: Bollywood brides have more often than not held their own, and its always been about the whole package. Getting married to the dashing hero of the film may always be the scripted ending for a Bollywood bride, but it has never meant that she will go down that route like a plain Jane. She will Manish Malhotra her way to the mandap if you please, or Sabyasachi to the very end. We take a look at women to have immortalized their roles, while being, to the very core, a Bollywood bride.
>) Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in Jodha Akbar – The True Blue Royal bride
This movie was about the Mughal grandeur of yore… However nobody other than Aishwarya could have justified being Jodha in this film. Of course the jewellery and lehngas were befitting for a Queen only, but the character came to life only with the looks, the poise and the grace of this doe eyed beauty.
>) Anushka Sharma in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil – The enthusiastic bride
The vivacious Alizeh was the right mix of bubbly, funny and fun loving bride. As much as the song Channa Mereya stirred our emotions, Anushka’s outfit and her perfect jewelry were no less. Keeping her power streak alive since her first movie Anushka has always been a choice for an adventurous and fun loving character and it wouldn’t be wrong to say that she justified the character in the truest sense.
>) Kangana Ranaut in Queen – The courageous ALMOST bride
Rani is the epitome of the contemporary bride… she is left in the lurch, at her own wedding, but instead of playing the victim card, she packs up her bag and goes for her honeymoon, SOLO! Gaining her confidence and self worth as she goes from one place to the other, Rani’s character is an inspiration. The character grows with Kangana’s strength, draws power from her steely grit and emerges empowered; dancing to the tunes of her new found self! A patriarchal society like ours needs more Rani’s or Kangana’s, women with courage and determination to rightfully exist as they want, where they want and as how they want. A big cheers to Kangana on this role!
>) Kajol in Dilwale Dulhaniyan le Jayenge – The Quintessential Desi bride
A foreign education does make her want to tour Europe, but at her heart,
Simran is at home only in the fields of sarson and sunflowers. Always striving to be the perfect daughter, sister and friend, Simran’s character displays equal amount of crazy and sensible. Kajol’s award winning performance gave the right foundation to this iconic movie. Cowbells and dimpled smiles, aside!
>) Alia Bhatt in Humpty Sharma ki Dulhaniya – The Adorable and Reletable Bride
She is one of the youngest in Bollywood brigade yet her maturity on screen can’t be denied. Alia, getting her charming streak from her real self, couldn’t have fit in more for Kavya’s character. Doesn’t every bride-to-be, just like her, want to see themselves in a Manish Malhotra when they walk down the aisle. Some even call the movie DDLJ of contemporary times and we couldn’t be happier to have Alia as modern day Simran. After all she is the apple of her father’s eye and if not Europe, definitely finds love on her trip to Delhi.
The exhilaration, the panic, the anger, and all the excitement that you feel! Well its is a wedding and who would feel anything less?

Music is the most essential part of any wedding, Indian or American. The song that plays when the bride comes out for the first time, the first song that the couple dances too, together, the medley of songs that his family dances too, versus yours. From the dholak to the piano, from the shehnai to the violin, all cultures celebrate weddings with immense fanfare.
Over the years we have seen, realized and acknowledged how good music can set the tone of an event. Music is what binds families together in such joyous times, where dancing with each other on the incessant beat of the dholak is what matters over anything else in the world!
This is our ultimate shaadi playlist: something to add that extra zing to your big day.
